I have heard and came across many news reports on people who lost their lives through traffic accidents.

I never expect that to happen to someone related to me. Last Wednesday, a fatal bike accident took my cousin away from this world. He was only 25 years old. This news came as a shock to all relatives. Till now, I still could not accept the fact that he was just gone like that.

I have alot of cousins but sad to say I am not close to them now. Many of us used to have fun and played together when we were young. As we grew older, there were less family gatherings. We used to have regular family gatherings when my grandma from my father's side was still alive. That was more than 10 years ago. After she passed away, gatherings become lesser. Contacts with cousins also become lesser. The only time I get to meet most of my cousins is during Chinese new year. Some do not even visit anymore. The last time I met this cousin of mine was during Chinese new year. I can't remember if I even spoke to him..

One of my regrets in life would be not being able to have close contacts with my cousins. It would be great if we could still talk and hang out together just like when we were young. Last time, we gathered for the sake of my grandma. She loved seeing all the grandchildren.

Uncles, aunties and cousins gathered again. This time round was for his funeral. The funeral was considered grand for a young man. I feel for my 6th uncle and aunt who lost their son and my 2 cousins who lost their elder brother. They were the ones closest to him and definitely knew him the best.

Life is that fragile and vulnerable.

This incident has left me thinking alot.
